Guide to Farmville Animals

There are two main classifications of animals in farmville: Livestock which can be obtained at the Market for coins or Farmville cash, and Lost Animals which will show up on your farm from time to time. The advantage of animal crops is that they do not rot like plant ones. When an animal is ready to be harvested, it will patiently wait for you to log in once more and harvest it. They are very simple to handle. Therefore it is a unproblematic means of getting money.

Livestock

Right now the livestock which you may procure at the Market are rather limited. Pigs, white sheep and dairy cows are the current animal choices available at the Market. During special occasions and holidays, new animals will come out for a selected time. Green cows titled BOV1NE-09 which is presently calledAlien Cow showed in the Market for 2400 coins during the "Alien Invasion". Green cows provide a crop called "milktonium" which sells for 18 coins. American Thanksgiving brought the "Baby Turkey"--when harvested for the first time, it will change into a full-grown, adult Turkey. The adult Turkey can then be harvested for feathers every 2 days at 80 coins a harvest. Your friends can send you other interesting livestock as free gifts and the standbys are available there as well.

You can see that the animals do not have the same harvest times. Some animals can be harvested once a day, others require 3 or even 4 days to "ripen".

Lost Animals

You need to keep an eye on your friends' status updates in order to see if they have come across any "lost animals". the lost animals will periodically show up on your farm and ask for your help. An example would be the Wild Turkey, which was released as a new "lost animal" by the creators of Farmville during the American Thanksgiving holiday.

She will show up on your farm with the following caption:

(Your name) discovered this frightened bird in Farmville. This time of year is tough for her and her kind. Hopefully she can find comfort and safety on a friendly farm...

Here is a list of some of the other "lost animals" in Farmville:

*Ugly Duckling (which can be transformed into a swan)

*Brown Cow (produces chocolate milk)

*Pink Cow (gives strawberry milk )

*Black Cat (produces yarn)

*Turtle (gives eggs)

*Black Sheep (produces chocolate wool)

*Regular cows may appear on your farm as a lost animal. They are available through the Market and can be given as a free item by your neighbors as well.

the lost animals cannot be adopted by you. What you can do is put them up for adoption. If you have more than one Facebook account, this is the right time to use it!

Put your animal up for adoption, then log out. Log in on your other account and quickly get the animal before someone else does! So remember what I said before, regularly look at your friends' status updates so that you can adopt their lost animals.

If you're obtaining a large number of cows and/or chickens, think about buying a Dairy Barn or a Chicken Coop.

These buildings provide a suitable way to keep the animals, and harvesting them all at once. A Dairy Barn or a Chicken Coop can hold 20 cows or chickens.
